Data Cabling Technician Apprenticeship
An exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Data Technician (Data and Telecommunications) to join our growing business in the Data Communications Industry.
The apprentice will play an integral part in the business working on commercial/education/health sector style projects and environments. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to learn and grow with the business and develop a trade that is in high demand. The right apprentice cabler will report to the Senior Data Technician and will be responsible for supporting all areas of the communications trade.
Comms apprenticeship will include the support and development of the below and much more.
- Learning to understand and examine drawings, specifications, and detailed scope of works.
- Learning and installing various structured cabling systems including Cat6, Cat6A, Cat7 (UTP, F/UTP etc.) and learning the multiple Tier 1 cable vendors products.
- Learning and installation of fibre optic cabling, single and multimode fibre.
- Learning the skills of commissioning and fault-finding, with training and the opportunity to experience using our Fluke Analyser Test Equipment (Copper Cabling & Fibre Optics).
- Learning how to perform the Splicing of fibre optic cables.
- Learning to rack and stack network switches, patching of network switches and other ICT equipment.
- Learning and developing good customer service with clients, Data Technicians, site managers and project managers.
The job will be full-time, with hours to be worked between 7 am and 3.30 pm Monday to Friday.
