The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in south east Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 1,500 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.
About the Role
The JBS Dinmore Maintenance team is currently recruiting an Apprentice Refrigeration Mechanic / Engine Driver to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Refrigeration Mechanic / Engine Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the extensive ammonia refrigeration systems. This role is also responsible for the operation and monitoring of two unattended gas-fired boilers to ensure the plant’s steam demands are met on a continuous basis.
The successful applicant will be joining a large team of experienced tradespeople (including Fitters, Electricians and Plumbers) and is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to develop their refrigeration and ammonia qualifications in a fast-paced, industry leading food manufacturing environment.
We are open to speaking with apprentices at any point in their apprenticeship. (Adult apprentice rate of pay is a percentage of the qualified trades rate.)
About You
Ability to work day shift hours, Monday to Friday
Thorough understanding and knowledge of OH&S regulations/procedures
Ability to attend TAFE as required
Ability to meet deadlines and goals
Good understanding of mathematics
Good understanding of computer systems
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work seamlessly with internal stakeholders
Demonstrated interest in the trade
Access to reliable transport
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Ability to follow JBS Australia Policies and Procedures
