As an Apprenticeship Field Officer you will be actively engaging and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Working with employers and First Nations Australian Apprentices, you will facilitate successful commencements and provide ongoing support throughout the apprenticeship journey. This role is predominantly mobile, and you will work across Victoria.  

In this role, you’ll drive business development and account management, generating effective partnerships with First Nations communities, services, organisations, and employers. This role will involve:

  • Promoting traineeships and apprenticeships and securing commencement opportunities for First Nations Apprentices.
  • Fostering and actively account manage relationships with employers, RTOs and GTOs, schools, and other industry stakeholders, establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement and referral source relationships to maximise opportunities for repeat business.
  • Proactively engage with and sign-up First Nations apprentices into a National Training Contract with their employer, guiding clients through sign-up processes and government forms.
  • Conducting assessment services for First Nations apprentices and employers, providing early interventions and supports to ensure apprenticeship retention and completions.
  • Providing high quality end-to-end advice and support to First Nations apprentices and employers to understand eligibility criteria for Commonwealth and State incentives and how to contact and access supports as required.
  • Assess individual apprentice needs and skill levels, identify gaps or potential barriers to success, and evaluate aptitude for various training paths and occupations.
  • Attending career expos, forums, and other networking events and coordinate promotional activities to positively promote SYC Australian Apprenticeship Support Services (AASS)

About You

As someone who enjoys working autonomously to drive outcomes and achieve KPI’s, you will be passionate about supporting the next generation of skilled apprentices to secure and successfully complete their apprenticeship. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Lived experience and/or experience engaging with and working effectively in a service/program in the First Nations sector.
  • Previous experience in the Australian Apprenticeships sector OR demonstrated business development, sales and/or marketing and effective account management experience.
  • Previous experience of engaging and successfully developing and managing positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Time management, organisational skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise to achieve outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with well-developed verbal and written skills, and the ability to conduct client assessments, develop case plans and case notes and reports.
  • Interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills along with innovative problem solving.
  • Strong engagement skills and the ability to interact effectively and sensitively with First Nations clients, communities, employers, and other stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

For this role, you will need to:

  • Complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Have a current and valid driver's licence and willingness to drive.
  • Be eligible to work in Australia.
