The Role
Within the Joint Logistic Management function, an APS 5Contract Manager is accountable under limited direction to perform logistics contract management activities within an integrated workforce. Whilst adhering to a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s mission and business objectives.
You will undertake activities involving differing, unrelated and established processes including contract compliance, relationship management, negotiation and dispute settlement. You will conduct reporting to ensure that all contract deliverables are met and have the authority and discretion to exercise initiative and judgement to achieve results.
As the Contract Manager you will be required to engage with different stakeholders, industry partners, supervisors, and team members. Through your relationships you will need to identify requirements, set expectations, respond and provide advice to achieve outcomes. You will be required to review the quality of work undertaken by others and be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
About our Team
Joint Logistics Unit (North) provides logistics support to Australian Defence Force elements operating across the Northern Territory and Kimberley region. Logistics support consists of maintenance, warehousing, distribution, regional procurement, and clothing and loan pool services.
Contract management is a pivotal role, providing oversight of a number of performance measures that require investigative work to ensure accountability, transparency and compliance when our contractors are performing work on behalf of the Commonwealth.
