The Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems (MIWS) Branch is a very busy organisation which is never dull and no two days are the same. The MIWS Branch Governance Officer will work under limited direction to perform and achieve complex governance work within an integrated workforce to help deliver an exciting array of integrated warfare systems to support naval success in the future. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They will provide detailed governance and professional advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning.
The MIWS Governance Officer will contribute to a team and have considerable level of stakeholder engagement working in a complex and integrated environment. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. The role involves high tempo work, strategic thinking and working across the Defence organisation to influence and support decision making within acquisition and sustainment.

MIWS Branch under Major Surface Combatants and Combat Systems Division is an exciting and complex environment to work in, offering a rewarding career in one of the most dynamic organisations within NSSG. We work across both Acquisition and Sustainment environments to develop and deliver products into new shipbuilding programs and to provide update/upgrade products to the existing RAN fleet, giving staff exposure to a wide variety of high profile maritime projects.
