OVERVIEW
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join their team at the APS4 level. Within this role you will play a key role by providing procurement expertise and assisting stakeholders to plan, develop, source, and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting thorough reviews of procurement documentation, including purchase requisitions, quotations, and contracts.
- Ensuring compliance with organisational procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Verifying accuracy and completeness of procurement documents, including pricing, specifications, and terms and conditions.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues in procurement processes.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and clarify procurement requirements.
- Establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including liaison, negotiation, and consultation.
- Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Guidelines, Procurement Policy and procedures, and ensuring value for money-based outcomes.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required to review and prepare documentation.
- Understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience managing high volume requests and ability to multitask.
- Previous experience in government Procurement.
- Stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
- Professional document writing experience.
- An understanding of government procurement and financial processes would be beneficial.
