The Records Manager will coordinate and perform information and records management activities in accordance with the Archives Act 1983, relevant legislative and Defence policies and procedures.
They will:
- Use tools and technologies to create, organise, store, retrieve, share, preserve or destroy information and data in accordance with organisational policies and procedures,
- Manage incoming electronic correspondence and document distribution including management team emails,
- Manage incoming and outgoing physical correspondence and courier services,
- Manage user permissions and privileges and classify information appropriately,
- Manage security classified information material in accordance with Defence requirements,
- Implement information and records management policies and procedures to physical and electronic records,
- Review and advise on governance requirements and maintain currency and integrity of information and record management systems, and assist in the management data of RMC-E related programs, working with the Commonwealth representatives and contractors,
- Represent Defence at key internal and external meetings.
Regional Maintenance Centre- East (RMC-E) is playing a leading role in implementing Plan Galileo’s ambitious reform program for surface fleet sustainment. Realising this will ensure Defence can support significant increase to the complex fleet of vessels generated through Continuous Naval Shipbuilding. Development of sovereign sustainment capability is key, so Defence has the workforce, systems, tools, supply chains and infrastructure to support the future fleet.
The RMC-E team will oversee several complex, high value, sensitive naval maintenance contracts, whilst working together to coordinate and schedule maintenance for Navy vessels and to build resilient local and regional supply chains. RMC-E will contribute to the delivery of continuous sustainment to naval capability resulting from sovereign shipbuilding programs and ensure Navy can respond to changing operational requirements.
The Commercial Management function within the team includes Contract management and regional contract management that will provide assurance, audit and compliance of contractors and report on performance, opportunity, and risk to Australian national interests.
