This role will oversee a small team responsible for personnel security services, including pre-employment screening, ongoing suitability, managing security clearances and security incident management at all departmental sites across Australia.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following attributes and capabilities:
- knowledge of and experience in implementing and administering the requirements under the Protective Security Policy Framework, including personnel security vetting requirements
- ability to work independently, with limited supervision to achieve key business deliverables
- ability to manage complex or sensitive personnel security matters, including security character and suitability assessments
- ability to coordinate team workflow and outcomes and assist with the development of standard operating procedures and guidelines
- excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
The key duties of the position include
- supporting the department to implement and administer the requirements of the Protective Security Policy Framework, including personnel security
- operationally delivering the day-to-day provisions of protective security services
- coordinating team workflow and outcomes and assist with the development of standard operating procedures, guidelines and process improvements
- communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver protective security related services
- assist with preparing security related communications including emails, briefs and reports as well as PSPF security awareness activities
- supporting the department's Protective Security functions, including Physical and Governance.
