The role will require a motivated, approachable and resilient individual who is able to work collaboratively with the Infrastructure Staff Officer and other key stakeholders. You will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement experience and be able to engage on complex and/or sensitive issues. You will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve both unit and Defence outcomes.
Key duties will include:
- Assisting the Infrastructure Staff Officer.
- Project Coordination (organise and attend meetings, take minutes, track actions etc.)
- Risk and Issues management.
- Quality weekly and monthly updates and reporting
- Manage budgets and expenditure
- Assist with procurement activity
- Document creation and management (SOP’s, work instructions, project plans, and other critical technical documents).
- Other duties as required
Within the Joint Capabilities Group (JCG), the Defence Strategic Communication Branch (DSCB) – Strategic Communication Sustainment & Interoperability (SCSI) (The Team) is a large and complex team of people tasked with providing efficient oversight and uplift of critical services serving the wider Australian Defence Force and our Coalition partners.
Working closely with Defence Communication Stations throughout Australia and the Defence Security & Estate Group (SEG) the SCSI Infrastructure Team ensures that DSCB services are not impacted by SEG building works or maintenance and that the Stations remain capable of being able to support DSCB services.

- Experience with ICT project coordination highly desirable.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders to meet and exceed expectations.
- Translate complex stakeholder requirements into deliverable work packages, as well as coordinate and execute outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with team members, sharing responsibilities to deliver key outcomes.
- Effectively report on financial, project and stakeholder engagement activities to a variety of stakeholders across various levels.
- Have an outcome focused attitude to problem solving, using initiative to identify alternative approaches to achieve desired outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with/or willing to learn about ICT projects and ICT service management.
- Experience with MS Office applications highly desirable (SharePoint, Lists, Teams/Planner, Visio, Excel and Power BI).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 clearance.
