Job description


As an Operational Architect, you'll play a pivotal role in providing expert technical guidance and solutions to ensure the operational success and architectural integrity of our clients' accounts. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and reviewing detailed technical designs, bills of materials, and client proposals, addressing both ongoing operational needs and major project change requests. Focusing on ICT & Data Networking, you'll spearhead innovative solutions to meet customer business requirements, coordinating all aspects of the architectural design and supporting its lifecycle.

Serve as a high-level Design Authority for architectural design and documentation of converged Network environments.

Offer technical advice and expertise to support and identify new technical solutions while maintaining architectural integrity.

Provide technical thought leadership and mentorship to the Optus delivery team.

Recommend strategies for input to the Business Plan and communicate customer needs effectively.

Drive ongoing strategic technical direction for customers, acting as a trusted partner and advisor.

Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving issues constructively, and analyzing requirements to develop profitable solutions.

Design complex business solutions integrating data, voice, video communications, and systems components into effective networks.

Provide Technical and Infrastructure Design for Managed Services solutions, including cost and risk assessment.

Collaborate with other Optus groups to deliver projects and lead as a point architect for hybrid solutions.

Proactively engage in sales activities, identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.

Conduct enterprise technology presentations from technical to CIO level, embedding a consultative approach within Sales and Delivery.

Australian Citizen to be eligilble for Baseline Government Security Clearance.

Minimum 7 years of technical experience, with at least 3 years in pre-sales/Embedded Architect roles.

Experience in developing detailed customer technical designs, bills of materials, and client proposals.

Demonstrated expertise in providing technical advice, maintaining architectural integrity, and supporting deployed customer ICT environments.

Detailed understanding of one or more of the following technology areas: Data Networks (Juniper and/or Cisco, routing & switching), Security (Juniper and/or Cisco), Server and Storage technologies ( Netapp, VMWare, HP, Cisco UCS, Microsoft), Network toolsets, reporting platforms and other related technology such as HP Openview, Compuware.

Strong background in Managed Solutions environments and maintaining large corporate networks.

Proficiency in managing diverse technical solutions and in-depth understanding of Data Networks, Security, Server and Storage technologies, and related tools.

Excellent project coordination, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
