The Role
- You will work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes.
- You will exercise initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and application of practices and procedures.
- You will provide detailed materiel logistics technical and professional advice relating to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program/project management and policy development.
- You will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement, liaising with stakeholders relating to complex issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
- You will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
- You will be required to be a MILIS Local Site Administrator (LSA) for the branch that is a core, corporate governance Defence function.
- You will be responsible for the local management of MILIS which includes Security & User Access, 1st Tier Support Desk support and Governance.
About our Team
The Joint Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems (JC4S) Branch integrates information technologies to enhance combat effectiveness for the Australian Defence Force. JC4S Branch acquires and sustains information technology for Australia’s Defence Forces across the country and in operational theatres overseas.
The branch provides computer applications that support planning and conduct of operations, including IT infrastructure and geographic information systems for deployed military forces across the Submarine, Maritime, Land and Aerospace Domains.
JC4S has select in-service products and systems for planning and conducting military activities, and for international interoperability objectives. These systems comprise numerous specialist military software and purpose-designed hardware products.

The ideal candidate would demonstrate a keen eye for detail, analytical problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing processimprovements.
A background in logistics or supply chain management, coupled with experience in Stocktaking procedures, would be highly advantageous for this role.
