The Hub Operations Branch currently has a number of vacancies across the following sections:
- The Assessment Section oversee and manage the compliance and assessment of grant applications received for advertised grant opportunities. The team plays a vital role to the success in delivering requirements of the ‘select’ phase on behalf of DSS and other Commonwealth Government Departments. In this role you would have regular contact with members of other Government Departments and subject matter experts
- The Hub Enquiries and System Support (HESS) Hub Systems Training Team plays a critical role to the Hub’s success in delivering training and training–related activities to Hub and Client Agency staff for Hub systems. Hub systems include the Grant Payment System (GPS), Qlik Sense, and Grant Recipient Portal (GRP)
- The Organisation Data Management section (ODM) is primarily responsible for undertaking legal entity eligibility validations to support the ‘Select’ phase of the grants administration lifecycle on behalf of our client agencies. Additionally, the team facilitate probity and financial viability requests, maintain core organisation data in system, which is used for a wide range of purposes and stakeholders. The team has regular contact with members of the public
- The Establishment and Transitions Section is responsible for establishing Grant Agreements in GPS, generating grant offer documentation and managing the offer and execution of Commonwealth grant offers on behalf of DSS and multiple Client Agencies

- interpret relevant program and grant guidelines, legislation and policy frameworks while proactively identifying, documenting and escalating risk and issues
- work independently under limited direction to achieve established priorities, practices, and methodologies to deliver quality outcomes
To be eligible for employment with Department of Social Services (the department), you must be an Australian citizen. An applicant's suitability for employment with the Department will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include an identity and criminal history background check.
Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance:
The suitable applicant must also obtain and maintain a security clearance conducted by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
Applicants also must be able to establish their background as checkable to be considered eligible for a security clearance. Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance. Background history must cover 5 / 10 years (Baseline / Negative Vet 1 or Negative Vet 2) of employment, education, residential, criminal history and anything else specified by the AGSVA. The suitable applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information to fulfil this process.
