About the role:
The APS5 Technology Officer is pivotal in the support and operation of the Agency's onsite data networks, workstations, displays, and shared hardware including printers and videoconferencing equipment. Working closely with senior engineers, you will work collaboratively with ICT Operations and the Agency more broadly. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimising all new and existing network and technology systems.
The APS5 Technology Officer will assign tasks, as well as assisting the broader team, leveraging your knowledge and experience to resolve issues and deliver solutions. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical people and have the right attitude towards adopting new technologies and expanding your professional knowledge. The position requires maintaining positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Work as an onsite liaison to both senior technical staff, vendors, and end users.
- Support the Agency's video conferencing and audio-visual technologies including configuration, acoustic testing, and training to end users.
- Providing support for physical network services onsite, including hardware installation and removal, patching and break fix troubleshooting.
- Using tools such as drills for the installation and removal of hardware and potentially working with heavy/awkward objects such as visual displays.
- Provide support on the M365 platform.
- Assist with asset logistics requirements, including receipt and distribution.
- Update and maintain appropriate registration of all ICT asset including asset moves.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Implementation of technical change management activities.
- Investigate technical problems assigned to the team and engage others to assist in addressing such problems.
- Actively manage service desk queues and assist in resolving issues over multiple communication channels.
- Foster a positive culture within the Agency ICT Services Branch, aligned with Agency values.
- Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
- Demonstrated minimum of 3 years' experience in ICT operations roles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
- Sound understanding of ITIL best practice.
- Significant experience with Teams Rooms video conferencing and audio-visual equipment including configuration, acoustic testing, and training to end users.
- Network hardware installation and removal, patching and troubleshooting.
- Ability to use tools such as drills for the installation and removal of hardware and potentially working with heavy/awkward objects such as visual displays.
- Experience with logistics requirements, including asset receipt and distribution.
- Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work within and across teams, the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to prioritise and allocate tasks in an efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
