About the role:
The Crime Command Information Technology (IT) is a small team who are responsible for the management of information technology, audio visual and communication requirements for the Crime Command. The IT team consists of a VPS 4 Information Technology Coordinator and at VPS 3 ICT Support Technician who provide diverse ICT support in a dynamic operational policing environment. The VPS 3 ICT Support Technician reports to and works closely with the VPS 4 IT Coordinator to ensure that the Commands ICT equipment functions correctly, meets operational requirements and is utilised within the organisational policy parameters.
The VPS 3 ICT Technician is responsible for the day to day monitoring, triaging and actioning ICT remedial requests, including the provision of advice and validating access controls for folders, shared accounts and applications. The role is pivotal in ensuring IT equipment is available and set up when taskforces are established and managing the allocation, collection and set-up of ICT equipment as employees commence and leave the Command.

Your duties will include:
- Diagnose and problem solve information technology solutions (hardware and contemporary software) and provide service, guidance and advice on a range of IT and audio-visual equipment issues to members of the Command.
- Provide support to Command staff in the operation and maintenance of standard operating environment applications, local area networks and hardware operation and requirements.
- Maintain appropriate networks with the relevant help desk and other relevant areas of Victoria Police; and
- In conjunction with management, contribute to IT related projects.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Ability to multi-task/prioritise task and work either independently or in a team environment.
- Excellent stakeholder / customer service skills.
- Experience in providing ticketing/diagnostic troubleshooting support of hardware/software products.
- Ability to communicate professionally with stakeholders in both written reports and oral presentations.
- A proven record of ethical behaviour and an understanding of OHS workplace requirements.
Requirements and relevant information:
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head. To obtain this clearance applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- This position at times requires physical manual handling of I.T equipment to various levels/locations within the office building.
- May be required to assist and respond to critical and high priority technical service business requirements of policing events/incidents.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
