Your new company
Join a Federal Government department located in North Cairns. Your new team will be responsible for program governance, project delivery and other support functions for a program engaged in biosecurity surveillance and quarantine regulation in northern Australia.This is a full-time 6-month non-ongoing contract starting ASAP, based in Cairns.
Your new role
As the APS5 Training Support Officer, you will support the training team within the Indigenous Rangers and Business Management Section. You will be responsible for all administration functions of the team –- Supporting trainees / learners e.g., facilitating regular yarning circles, coordinating training, monitoring assessment completion
- Liaising with stakeholders
- Providing administrative support
- Arranging travel and logistics for training and other events
- Maintaining and monitoring of databases and spreadsheets
- Finance functions include paying invoices and supporting the preparation and monitoring of contracts.
- Assisting with the procurement of goods and services e.g., training
- Preparing correspondence, briefs, reports
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need a solid understanding of the contemporary issues and protocols affecting First Nations peoples. Your background should demonstrate experience in supporting First Nations peoples to achieve learning outcomes. You will have a track record of providing high-quality administrative support, including tasks such as analysing information, preparing reports, maintaining, and monitoring databases/spreadsheets, and coordinating travel and logistics.Additionally, experience in procurement or contract management processes is highly desirable, or at the very least, you should have the ability to quickly acquire an understanding of these processes. This combination of knowledge and skills will equip you to make a meaningful impact in this role.
