SalaryOur Federal Government client is on the lookout for an experienced Procurement Officer to join the team on a full time temporary contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone already in procurement looking for their next challenge. This role is located in Brisbane CBD.Responsibilities of APS6 Procurement Officer:
- Lead and manage the team, setting priorities, and managing workflows
- Providing detailed support and advice on complex problems, including technical, policy, and operational aspects
- Coordinating strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development
- Collaborating with business areas as a procurement partner, establishing methodologies, preparing documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts
- Managing procurement reporting, verification activities, and financial processing
- Maintaining procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks
- Contributing to procurement planning and providing specialist advice to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and procurement policies
- Monitoring and advancing work area activities to achieve objectives and maintain team cohesion
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management and large complex projects
- Experience within a Federal Government agency is preferred
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to engage and negotiate stakeholders
