Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Procurement Officer on a contract.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: Start – ASAP, End – 28/06/2024, with option to extend a further period (or periods) of up to 30 June 2025
Security/Eligibility Requirement:Minimum Baseline Security Clearance
Requirements:
The Finance and Procurement Officer role is within the Simplified Trade System (STS) Taskforce and supports the Assistant Director to deliver a range of financial and procurement activities. The role is responsible in providing financial and procurement advice, undertaking financial management activities, assisting teams with their procurement and contracting needs, and building productive working relationships across the Taskforce and Agency.
The successful occupant in this role requires:
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and multiple levels
- Demonstrated ability undertake work with a moderate level of complexity and sensitivity under limited guidance
- Ability to apply well developed analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve outcomes
- Sound knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks and best practice with regards to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
Position Duties
The Finance and Procurement Officer will be responsible to ensure the procurement activities align with the Taskforce deliverables, budget, and governance structures.
This will include:
- Provide relevant and accurate advice on budget and financial management, financial policy, procurement, and contracting matters.
- Undertake financial administration and analysis including financial and procurement reporting, forecasting and accruals
- Assist with internal budget development and maintenance, including mid-year review
- Assist the Taskforce in procurement and contracting requirements, undertaking audits to ensure compliance and improve data integrity
- Develop and maintain good communication channels with relevant stakeholders to facilitate and deliver on the requirements of the Taskforce
- Contribute to the team’s innovation and continuous business process improvement and identify risks and business opportunities.
