They are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to contribute to the ACT Government’s procurement reform agenda. The role will help develop, advise on and implement procurement legislation, training and guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake meaningful and relevant research and analysis and guide the development of sound procurement legislation, policies, processes, templates, training and guidance documents
- Contribute to the development of new policy objectives and facilitate policy evaluations and reviews to ensure policy outcomes are being achieved
- Contribute to the development and delivery of procurement learning and development initiatives to support the application of the Government Procurement Framework.
- Provide project management support for key programs including project scheduling, risk management and governance.
- Prepare the preparation of submissions, reports, briefs and other written documentation for the Minister, Cabinet and Senior Executive.
- Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of procurement guidelines, procedures and frameworks in a government context
- Demonstrated experience developing high quality written material such as Ministerial or Cabinet briefings, policy, guidance documents, stakeholder communications and research or options papers, with a high attention to detail and in plain English.
- Proven ability to manage concurrent projects and changing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement activities
- Sound judgement, negotiation and both written and verbal communication skills
- A proven ability to liaise effectively with staff, management and external agencies
- Tertiary qualifications, or progress towards qualifications in Procurement and Contract Management disciplines highly desirable
