This Government Department is working at the forefront of delivering a high level of policies and programs to the public contributing to their health and well-being. Currently, they have a need for a high performing APS6 Program Officer to join the team to work on a number of ongoing health reforms that aim to improve patient health outcomes and provide new funding packages to primary care providers through policy design and implementation.
Your new role
As the Program Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing system design input from a policy perspective on the ICT system build for a number of health programs.
- Conducting considered, systematic research and analysis to support and develop high-quality evidence-based policy and/or program advice.
- Supporting the management and monitoring of the program activities
- Engaging with user experience testing teams to ensure the policy intent for the program is understood by users of the program
- Supporting the development of new policy proposals.
- Engaging and liaising with internal and external stakeholders in relation to policy development, implementation and program delivery.
- Contributing to project, program and section reports and planning and continuous improvement efforts and supporting effective team performance.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will be a high-performing individual with program management experience. As well as this, you will have:
- System Implementation experience
- Experience with government writing, including the ability to develop high level briefs, submissions, and general correspondence.
- The ability to break down and assess complex work processes.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills of a high order and an ability to work in a small but busy team.
- Manage effective working relationships with internal staff, senior executives and external stakeholders throughout relevant jurisdictions and the Commonwealth.
