OVERVIEW
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Vetting Services Manager to join their team at the APS6 equivalent level. Within this role you will manage operations of the vetting team including delegation of cases as required, training and mentoring team members, and interpreting and providing expert advice on personnel security policy and procedures.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertake engagement with stakeholders to administer the pre-employment checks (identity verification, Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, and suitability assessments), security clearances and cessation of departmental employees and contractors.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) to undertake difficult suitability assessments to satisfy requirements in relation to pre-employment checks and manage complex or sensitive personnel security, contact reporting and/or security governance related matters.
- Use sensitive information collected through the assessment process to make sound recommendations in a risk managed security environment with awareness of security threats and risks affecting the Australian Parliament House and other parliamentary worksites.
- Ensure compliance with the departments responsibilities to report change in circumstances and other reportable events to AGSVA.
- Develop standard operating procedures, documentation, accurate registers, and records management to support compliance with the PSPF in relation to personnel security and internal audit.
- Perform other duties commensurate with the objectives of the Section and classification as required.
- Must hold or have ability to maintain Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting).
