Our Aquaculture farmers are imperative to our business, ensuring we have optimal health and quality of our product on a day-to-day basis. You will enjoy working in an outdoor environment in this hands-on role, on one of our production farms in the Griffith/Leeton region, on a full-time basis.
Roles and responsibilities
• Assist with the planning and coordinating the operation of a production (growout) to produce Murray Cod while taking into account environmental and market factors
• Adhere and work towards best business practices
• Identifying and controlling toxins and diseases
• Monitoring stock growth rates to determine when to harvest and further assist with live harvest
• Assist with the transportation of Murray Cod to new tanks, ponds, cages and floating net pens
• Maintaining and evaluating records of farming activities, monitoring market activity and planning production accordingly (general Animal husbandry)
• Managing operational budgets associated to the production site.
• May be required to assist with the training and supervision of junior staff
Preferred Skills
• Strong work ethic with an attention to detail
• Ability to perform manual work (Physically Fit)
• Good observation and communication skills
• Experience within the aquaculture industry
Qualification / License:
• Driver’s license
• ChemCert
• Forklift license
• Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Aquaculture.
