We are in need of an experienced Architectural Draftsperson with relevant experience and background, preferably minimum of 2 years’ experience in Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) manufacturing and construction. The candidate must have the ability to draw concept plans from clients and translate them into digital architectural drawings while adhering to the standards set by the National Building Code of Australia.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Digital Drafting and Modeling• : Prepare and create 2D drawings and 3D models of Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) construction projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications and architectural standards.
Produce SIP construction details for builders to execute.
- Building Information Modeling (BIM)• : Advanced knowledge of Trimble Products such as Tekla and Sketchup software to develop intelligent 3D models with dynamic components containing crucial project information, including materials, take-off quantities, costs, and schedules.
- Collaboration• : Work with manufacturing facilities and liaise closely with architects, engineers, and other construction allied professionals to ensure seamless integration of digital drawings and models into the construction process.
- Virtual Simulation• : Employ digital models to simulate construction processes, identify potential issues, and resolve conflicts before physical construction commences.
- Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)• : Implement VR and AR technologies to create immersive experiences for clients and stakeholders, aiding in project visualization and decision-making.
- Efficiency Management• : Contribute to improving the efficiency, safety, waste management, and sustainability of SIP construction projects by harnessing the capabilities of digital technologies.
- Quality Management• : Conduct all activities in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
Essential Competencies/Skills/Qualifications
- Digital Proficiency:
- Proficient in the use of CAD, Trimble Software, Enscape, Lumion and other relevant digital construction tools and software.
- SIP and Prefab Construction Knowledge:
- Preferably minimum of 2 years’ experience with SIP manufacturing and construction.
Strong understanding of SIP construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Estimates and Procurement:
- Excellent understanding of SIP construction building material quantity, and the ability to produce estimates from 3D models.
- Problem Solving:
- Ability to identify and resolve construction-related issues through digital modeling and simulation.
- Communication:
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability:
- Ability to adapt to evolving digital technologies and industry trends.
Other Competencies/Skills/Abilities
- Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)• : Familiarity with VR and AR technologies is a plus.
- 3D Rendering Skills• : Knowledge in rendering 3D architectural projects.
- Microsoft Office Skills• : Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Office applications.
Experience:
• Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or relevant field of study.
• At least 2 years’ experience in architectural drafting and construction.
• At least 2 years’ experience modelling with Trimble Software.
• At least a year experience in using Opencutlist plugin software.
