What’s Involved
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Area Manager to join our Sales Team in Newcastle. This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of Sales within our growing business and in turn, build your skillset and gain further experience.
You will train, manage, and mentor our merchandising staff within your area and provide leadership to the merchandising team in line with company policies, vision, and values.
Duties performed will include:
- Ensure merchandisers communicate marketing plans / promotional material at the store level
- Approve merchandising hours worked daily in SIF
- Lead, nurture, and develop your teams with respect and trust whilst developing succession for all key roles
- Liaise with the HR department regarding WHS hazards and employee issues particularly surrounding onboarding, training, inductions, performance management, and resignations
- Ensure a sufficient number of merchandisers are allocated to each store
- Create roster schedules for all merchandisers and manage them accordingly
- Manage the sales targets with each Merchandiser to store level - CORE and SOR
- Support the State Sales Manager with all sales functions and responsibilities
- Report all hazards, accidents, and incidents including environmental and COR matters
immediately as per the reporting requirements
About You:
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve their goals
- Understanding of the products or services including knowing the value propositions of their products, as well as the competitive landscape
- Able to identify and solve problems for their customers
- Must be resilient and able to bounce back from setbacks
- Familiarity with the sales process including building rapport, presenting solutions, and handling objections
- Experience in managing a team of at least four
- Tertiary qualifications in sales or business
