Art Sales Consultant / In-Store

MINUS ART is a unique, Sydney-based brand that brings high-quality, curated, and handcrafted fine art prints by emerging artists worldwide to art enthusiasts. In 2022, we embarked on a new chapter, opening our first gallery in the dynamic neighborhood of Paddington, Sydney. Same year, we also opened our first workshop where we meticulously handcraft all of our art and frames, offering a distinctive, personal touch. The Opportunity:

We are on the lookout for a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing Art Sales Consultant & Marketer to join our team. This part-time role requires commitment on initially two weekdays from 10 am – 5 pm, ideally Tuesday and Thursday, with opportunities for growth based on performance and target attainment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with customers, providing detailed information about our artists, collections, and the unique handcrafting process of our products
• Uphold the gallery's presentation and visual merchandising standards
• Build and manage relationships with trade/business customers
• Support our team in other sales and marketing campaigns such as influencer collaborations and email marketing
• Demonstrate professional sales techniques and consistently meet quotas
• Familiarize yourself with our artists' collections, gallery media, and product options
• Manage a wide range of customer interactions, offering custom problem-solving to meet client needs
• Provide advice on our custom design services
• Perform retail store opening and closing duties, assisting with gallery maintenance and art installations
• Collaborate directly with the founder on unique marketing ideas for the Minus Art products

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• A proven track record in sales, including understanding people, engaging their emotional connection to make a purchase, and delivering the best solution(s) to meet their needs and lifestyle
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and strategically
• Experience in marketing is highly desirable
• Retail experience and knowledge of wall art/interior design are highly desirable
