Arts Worker - Administration Assistant

This position reports to Art Centre Manager and is based at the Girringun Aboriginal Art Centre & Keeping Place Gallery - 235 Victoria Street, Cardwell QLD 4849.This position is to provide administrative and clerical support to the Manager and to the day-to-day operations of the Gallery & Keeping Place. This position provides an opportunity to develop professional skills, learn Indigenous Culture and support the Girringun artists.*This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander specified position*.

• Part-time: 20 hours per week.
• Award: Clerical - Private Sector Award 2020 from $23.97 per hour (superannuation + salary sacrifice available).

Selection CriteriaEssential. * Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

• Display knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural obligations and protocols.
• Ability to handle sales enquiries & cash handling.
• Proactive administrative and organisational skills with effective written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel and work outside of regular business hours, and holder of a full driver' license.

Desirable. * Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts.
