About the Role: A South Australia State Department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Principal Project Officer (ASO7). Reporting to the Manager, Governance and Strategic Projects, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading, developing, managing, and implementing projects that contribute to achieving quality outcomes for the department.

Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the development and implementation of projects, adhering to endorsed project management standards.
Provide high-level strategic leadership and advice to support the development, management, and implementation of policies and projects, particularly those targeting support for Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
Prepare clear, detailed, and timely submissions, reports, memos, letters, and briefings across a range of strategic policy and project areas.
Coordinate high-quality briefings and reports within required timelines and to a high standard.
Conduct high-level research on complex issues to inform policy, program, and project development.
Effectively engage with and work within relevant legislation, including the development of regulations or other documentation.
Provide a high level of service, consultation, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including Aboriginal stakeholders.
Lead by example, promoting a culture of cross-team and cross-agency collaboration and maintaining a culture of performance, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the team.
Coordinate the implementation processes for sensitive, innovative, and complex strategies impacting service-wide operations.
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as considered reasonable.
Qualifications:
Essential: Working with children check .
Desirable: An appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or relevant vocational experience and knowledge.
Your Capabilities:
Proven experience in developing, leading, and implementing successful programs of work and/or policy and projects.
High-level critical analysis and written skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including Aboriginal stakeholders.
Ability to work under limited direction, collaboratively as part of a team, exercising judgment in prioritizing work activities.
Experience working effectively with Aboriginal stakeholders in policy, project, and program development.
Proven ability to identify and deliver strategic and operational outcomes in a sensitive and complex environment.
Ability to provide concise and comprehensive written and verbal briefings on complex issues.
