Principal Project Officer
Location: Strawberry Hills
Full-time, 12-month temporary opportunity with the possibility of extension
Grade 11/12 - $139,787- $161,663 p.a. + superannuation and annual leave loading
Flexible work practices including some work from home, flexible working hours, 35-hour week and flex leave
Your role
The Principal Project Officer leads executive projects for the Sydney, South Eastern Sydney and Northern Sydney District, providing high-level operational and strategic advice, engagement with key stakeholders, and facilitating discussions to achieve effective outcomes.
Projects include:
- Connect for Safety is an innovative national online child protection information search tool designed to enhance the safety of Australian children and families.
- The Waterloo Human Services Collaborative Group was established to assist with engagement, planning and coordinated responses by human services agencies to the Waterloo community, through an action plan, to address the current and future needs of the Waterloo community, specifically those living in public housing.
- Disability Employment Network (DEN) District Champion to empower and encourage employees with disability to participate in the development of DCJ policies, procedures, strategies and to promote a workplace culture that ensures equity of opportunity and freedom from discrimination.
As a Principal Project Officer, you will:
- Project management of the Inter-Jurisdictional Governance Group (IGG) and Waterloo Human Services Collaborative Group, ensuring effective operations governance.
- Provide high-level operational and strategic advice and ensure strategic and operational impacts are identified and addressed and high-quality services are maintained to children, adults, families, and communities.
- Lead coordination of communication, issues management, supporting practice improvement initiatives across service delivery sectors.
- Provide high-level operational and strategic advice and ensure strategic and operational impacts are identified and addressed.
- Champion equal access and inclusion for people with disability in DCJ
- Provide high-level advice on plans, policies and procedures that impact the recruitment, retention, and career development of employees with disability.
- Lead a small team responsible for developing, managing and reporting on project management strategies and deliverables within timeframes and budget.
- Lead best practice through the use of project management methodologies to deliver quality outcomes.

- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
