Work with Indigenous stakeholders to develop policies, projects and programs
Your new role
As Principal Policy Officer, you will work autonomously on departmental initiatives associated with the Closing the Gap Program. This will involve reporting on milestones and deliverables, preparing written reports and briefings, conducting research on complex issues, and engaging with stakeholders including Indigenous organisations.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must have a DHS Working with Children Clearance and demonstrate:
- Experience in developing, leading and implementing policies and/or projects
- Experience in working effectively with Aboriginal stakeholders in the development of projects, policies and programs
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders while taking cultural considerations into account
In addition, you will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively. You will also have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
