Ian Harrington Group is an iconic Tasmanian road surfacing company that has been in operation for 60 years and continues to deliver quality road solutions through our businesses including Roadways Surfacing, Statewide Linemarking, Protector Rail and Rockit Asphalting.
As part of our move to a shared service model for support functions we are currently seeking a skilled Asset Manager to drive the maintenance and whole of life management of our fixed and mobile assets across the Group.
About the role
Working closely with key stakeholders across our business, the Asset Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Group’s assets are procured, maintained and replaced in a manner that ensures they are appropriate for operational needs and compliant with regulatory requirements.
You will mentor, develop and lead the maintenance team improving and/or implementing advanced asset management methodologies including utilisation monitoring, equipment availability and reliability reporting as well as preventative and predictive maintenance planning for all mobile and fixed assets across the Group. You will have strong coaching skills to further enhance and develop existing supervisors and direct reports.
The Asset Manager relies on and engages closely with Business Unit managers and external maintenance contractors to support and execute maintenance in accordance with agreed maintenance plans, while minimising business interruption.
Travel across our sites throughout Tasmania and on call duties are an essential part of the role.
What you bring
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with mobile plant and equipment.
- Leadership skills to manage and develop the effectiveness of the maintenance team.
- Ability to lead and engage people through change.
- Ability to create comprehensive capex business cases for submission to our Board.
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks, activities and requirements of others.
- A proactive, flexible and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Proven experience in planning, forecasting and budget preparation.
- Intermediate or above skills with MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
- Cost conscious but value aware in all facets of the role.
- Ability to develop, implement and manage a maintenance business system inclusive of writing and updating maintenance procedures and documents.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities across multiple sites.
- Exposure to a CMMS will be an advantage.
