Asset Officer - Arboriculture

We have an exciting opportunity for an arborist or suitably qualified person to join our Horticulture Team. Do you have great communication skills, the ability to address issues in a positive and professional manner, a passion for strategic and long term management of tree assets, then you may be our ideal candidate!
This role is fundamental in protecting and enhancing Councils’ tree population across the municipality.
You will have experience and can demonstrate competency in executing effective and efficient proactive tree inspections. You will have necessary skills and qualifications to undertake internal assessments and prepare reports relating to trees, insurance claims, tree root damage, provide advice for planning referrals and capital works, and renewal planning. You will be responsible for managing Council obligations of the Electric Line Clearance Management Plan.
You will be competent in adapting to and embracing new field mobility technologies, confident with tree management registers and associated data management and be a champion of change management.
For the right candidate who may be recently qualified, a demonstrated willingness and capability to rapidly learn new systems and processes will be considered favourably.
This is a full time, Band 5 classified role, remuneration will be $71,856 - $779,404pa (depending on experience) plus superannuation. The role is based across our Field Services Depot and Asset Planning Team, and we can offer a range of flexible work options to the right candidate.
In order to thrive in this position, you will have:

- Demonstrated ability to motivate staff and contractors to achieve established standards of performance with given timeframes.
- High level communication skills both verbal and written, including high-level interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills and skills in liaising with stakeholders.
- Experience undertaking a range of arboriculture services
- A minimum certificate IV in arboriculture with the assess trees module and substantial experience in tree management, including tree inspections and works allocation. (For this role we will consider candidates that have nearly completed their certificate IV in arboriculture studies)
