The Opportunity

Working in a division of a market leading services based business with a strong brand and proud history of success. At a group level they have operations across Australia and parts of Asia with a head office in Melbourne and employ over 10,000 people across the world.

As their commercial team continues to expand, the business seeks an aspiring management accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to take on a challenging and rewarding role in a business with lots of positive momentum. 

The Challenge

Supporting the Accountant and Commercial Finance Manager, you will be assisting with the following duties:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including commentary and variance analysis
• Assist in budget and forecast preparation and ongoing monitoring and review of performance
• Preparation of general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation and corporate reporting
• Analysis and providing guidance for the business both operationally and commercially
• Leading the continuous improvement of management financial reporting 
• Assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements and completion of year end audits
• Providing ad-hoc support to the broader finance team

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• Working towards completing your CPA/CA Qualification 
• 3-5 years experience working within a relevant role 
• Intermediate excel skills and the ability to proactively develop financial models to guide business decisions 
• Strong communication and personable skills and the ability to build trust and influence key stakeholders
