At Bendigo Heritage Attractions, we proudly preserve and operate three of Bendigo's most significant heritage sites; Central Deborah Gold Mine, Bendigo Tramways and the Bendigo Joss House Temple.

We are looking for a professional and passionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Accountant.
This position would be suited to someone who is either studying or has recently completed an accounting related degree.
Reporting to the Management Accountant you will:
- Support the Management Accountant and wider finance team
- Work with the finance team on various accounting projects
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly monitoring against actual amounts
- Assist in the preparation of GST returns
- Provide support to the Management Accountant with general accounting queries
- Perform reconciliations of accounts including:
- Bank account reconciliations
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Count, reconcile and bank all daily cash takings (as required)
- Provide support for payroll processing (as required)
- Provide internal customer support to a consistently high standard
- Participate in continuous improvement processes
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with limited supervision and within deadlines.
- Extensive computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of accounting software (Xero preferred).
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, applications and concepts.
- Attention to detail.
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills
