About the Role
This position reports to the Team Leader & Systems Accountant and is responsible for completing month-end and year-end processing and reporting, as well as assisting with budgeting, statutory and regulatory reporting, and systems integration.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Support the month end process by preparing/posting journals, calculate accruals and provisions, prepayments and completing monthly balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Banking and debtor management
- Prepare month end financial reports and variance analysis against budget
- Assist in the preparation of budget and forecast
- Assist in the preparation of government grant acquittals and annual statutory and regulatory reporting
- Take charge of the fixed assets register
- Assist with financial year end audit and responding to auditors’ requests
- Assist in the preparation of financial year end statutory financial statements
- Prepare monthly Business Activity Statements and ABS surveys
- Facilities management including assisting with lease schedules, lease related account reconciliations and journals
- Car fleet management and record keeping including motor vehicle insurance, registration and fuel cards
About you
This role requires a high level of attention to detail and requires integrity in dealing with confidential information. Our ideal candidate has 2-3 years’ experience in accounting or finance.
Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong financial system, financial reporting, and taxation knowledge
- Experience using finance software such as Xero, Aurion or Dext
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- High level computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a broad range of people.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet internal and external deadlines.
It is essential that you hold:
• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent
Desirable
• Studying or progressing towards CA or CPA
