About the Company
Metro has been operating for over 20 years. Since its formation, Metro has provided temp, perm and contract recruitment together with outsourced HR and Bookkeeping Services to clients in a variety of industries including the Hospitality and Leisure industry.
About your role
You will perform accounting related duties and work closely with all members of the accounts and payroll team to achieve organisational goals and reporting deadlines. You will be responsible for:
Essential Functions:
- Daily bank reconciliation
- General Ledger maintenance
- Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Carry out End of Month procedures including preparation of accruals and prepayment journals.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly draft financial statements for review by Management Accountant
- Respond to client & supplier queries and resolving in a professional and timely manner
- Assist in yearly audits
Additional Job Duties:
- Provide support to the accounting team as required
- Data entry of Daily Cash Up
- Processing of weekly accounts payable
- Processing of weekly payroll
- Assisting with other accounting duties as required
About You
- Prior/current hospitality experience
- Diploma in Accounting or higher
- Previous experience using MYOB or Xero
- Previous experience with Payroll
- Intermediate computer skills, including Excel
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and planning skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines and reporting timetables
- Ability to multi-task as you will be working with many different clients
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to carry out tasks independently and accurately as well as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to show initiative and be a self-starter
- Maintain strict confidentiality
