We are an established & rapidly growing FMCG Company specializing in the importing and distribution of Asian food products to all major retailers in the Australian & NZ markets. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, proactive, and self-motivated Assistant Accountantto join this leading company in Asian food products, located in Sydney West.
This role will be reporting to the Finance Manager. You will also help be part of the team's efforts to drive change, improve processes, and increase efficiency.
Knowledge of Dynamics 365 will be much preferred.
Position Profile
As a critical finance team member to support all facets of the company’s accounting activities, month-end, and year-end financial reporting, statutory compliance, auditing, and management of the accounting system. Also responsible for preparing inventory costing.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Accounts handling mainly on receivable and on payable if required
- Knowledge of General ledger accounting entries
- Month-end and accruals processing
- Preparation of credit notes/debit notes
- Preparation of bank reconciliations
- Assessing credit risks and credit control according to the profile of the customers
- Closely monitor customers’ collections and provide weekly cash receipt projection
- Ensure all outstanding payments are collected and reconciled on time and highlight customers with high risks of default
- Regular review of customers’ credit limit & outstanding payments with the sales department and report it to different stack holders
- Process vendor invoices & arrange vendor payments by EFT, cheques, etc.
- Preparation of periodic AR/AP aging reports, ad hoc analysis reports, monthly statements, and year-end reports
- Co-operate and work well with finance and colleagues of other departments
- Follow and carry out company policies and protocols as instructed strictly
Skills Required
- Strong working knowledge of accounting concepts
- EXCEL skills are expected
- Strong communication skills in verbal & written English (Mandarin or Cantonese speaker an advantage)
- Team player and able to work independently.

- Must have 2 to 3 years of local AU experience
- Diploma or tertiary qualified in accounting
- Full-time on site
