Assistant Accountant / Junior Accountant

Nazareth Care is a fully accredited, not-for-profit residential aged care provider with facilities in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and New Zealand. We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team on a Full Time basis for initial 12 month FTC. Working closely with the Senior Accountant and wider Finance team, responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

• Managing financial transactions including Accounts Payable and Receivable
• Timely and accurate completion of bank reconciliations
• Processing of accruals, prepayment and general journals
• Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
• Preparing the BAS/GST for Australia and providing support for BAS preparation in New Zealand
• Assisting with the preparation of budgeting and forecasting reports
• Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc accounting duties

About You:

• 1-3 years experience in a similar role
• Exposure to Accounts Payable and Receivable
• Qualifications in Business or Accounting preferred
• Understanding of the Aged Care Sector highly advantageous
• Strong attention to detail with a passionate and open mind set
• Enthusiasm to explore different Accounting functions and best practice
• Knowledge of statutory legislation, regulation and accounting principles
• Working towards CPA beneficial
