Form of workThe Role We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team and support the continued growth of our business. Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, this position presents an opportunity for accountability across a broad range of responsibilities within both the financial and management accounting areas.
You will be hands on and provide assistance in producing timely and accurate monthly reporting for the Group. This role offers the opportunity to learn new skills across multiple disciplines, with training provided for the right person. Key Responsibilities: Assist with day-to-day operation of the finance & mining department, including filing, report generation, forecast & budget reviews.
Maintaining accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements. Recommending financial actions by analysing account transactions. Assisting senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
Timely completion of monthly financial account reviews and reconciliations. Assisting with the preparation of financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends. Supporting the timely completion, analysis and reporting of monthly results.
The successful applicant will ideally have: Qualified or studying towards accountancy qualification preferable. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills; Intermediate to advanced Jobpac or equivalent accounting software skills; Attention to detail and good record-keeping skills; Mining or construction industry experience; A background in supporting projects & personnel across multiple locations.
