The Australian Institute of Music, or AIM, is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Accountant to join our Finance team! In this role, you’ll play an important role in the delivery of timely and accurate finance records. This role will be looking after accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end and reconciliations, while supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and analytical reports.

Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable – Managing records in Xero and RIO; chasing outstanding fees and other income
- Accounts Payable – Weekly batch payments and agent commission payments
- Month End – Month End Journals, reports and completing up to Trial Balance level
- Taxation – BAS, Payroll Tax and other
- Reconciliations – Bank Reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations
- Payroll duties
- Reporting and Analysis
- Assist and help in the audit process
- Assist and help in the Cash Flow Management process
- Other task directed by the Finance Manager
- Ad hoc tasks
About You
- Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
- Degree qualifications with major in accounting
- CPA/CA or near completion of CPA/CA
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally gained in an educational institute
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ideally other Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Xero and Rio experience will be highly desirable
- Excellent communicator who can collaborate easily with different stakeholders
- Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to add valuable insight from data
- Willingness to adapt and grow
