Explore Industries Australia Pty Ltd manufactures the Leisure Pools and the Nexus Pools brand of fibreglass swimming pools. Based in Yatala on the Gold Coast and with offices in the USA and Europe we are one of the largest fibreglass pool manufacturers in the world, exporting pools around the globe.
Due to an internal promotion, a newly created opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced person to join our Yatala finance team as Assistant Accountant. The role is Part-Time, approx 22-30 hours per week, with some flexibility in workdays.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant is required to support all aspects of the accounting and payroll function and ensure integrity and timeliness of information.
Duties will include:
- Monthly journals, accruals, prepayments, bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assisting with monthly management reporting & analysis.
- Assist with the administration of the business ERP system – setup of items, customers, vendors, BOMs and reporting.
- Support AP/AR coordinators with matching payments and transfers, ageing reviews, credit card reconciliations and rebates.
- Responsible for maintaining fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Assist the annual budget and forecasting activities.
- Responsible for weekly payroll processing, including review of time records, additions/terminations and reporting.
- Assist documentation updates with standard operating procedures.
- Support compliance obligations with accounting standards, taxes and audits related tasks.
Requirements for the successful applicant:
- Accounting/finance degree or working towards this qualification.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
- Prior experience in payroll and time & attendance systems.
- Intermediate skills in Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliable, can-do attitude and superior communication skills.
