Job tasks and responsibilities

Reporting to the Building Manager, this Part TimeAssistant Building Manager role is for a premium apartment complex in the Eastern suburbs with opportunities to grow within the company.

The core role will involve:

• Role: Mon to Fri 4hrs a day.  Ideal for those seeking Part Time work in the Eastern suburbs
• Assisting the Building Manager with daily operations of the building
• Ensuring the day-to-day presentation of the building is maintained to a high level
• Daily visual inspections of buildings for maintenance requirements and safety risks
• Carry out general maintenance items as required
• Provide emergency response attendance to reported faults and defects
• Provide afterhours assistance as required
• Assist with some cleaning duties
• Assist with security duties
• Overseeing residents moving in and out of the site
• Experience in preparing required building reports as required including and not limited to quarterly reports and annual reports
• OH&S policies and procedures are adhered to
• Managing service providers against contracts service expectations
• Implementing and managing the scheduled maintenance program
• Schedule in and facilitate requirements for building compliance checks and certification
• Periodic inspections of common areas, facilities, plant and equipment
• Providing recommendations to the Building Manager regarding ongoing maintenance of the complex
• Understanding of Building Codes and applicable Australian Standards for facilities operation
• Actively encouraging opportunities to bring together residents to create a community
• Forge positive relationships with other team members, clients, owners, strata managers and contractors

Skills and experience:

The ideal applicant will possess the following relevant skills:

• Strong client service relationship skills
• Experience in sourcing, installing and using Building Management software.
• Experience in a similar role is required.
• Experience in a building environment and onsite experience
• Experience in understanding corrective and preventative maintenance works
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Be a team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Exceptional customer service and ability to work with and add value to clients
• Able to seek better ways to do things and thrive in a challenge-stress environment
• Ability to execute and complete work orders to the highest standards with a variety or trades people (i.e. cleaners, electricians, plumbers, handymen and other trades).
• High competence in Microsoft Office software i.e Outlook, Word, Excel & OneDrive.
• Experience using Building Link desirable but not essential
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
