North Ryde Golf Club is currently seeking to employee an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent which will join a dedicated turf management team. North Ryde Golf club takes great pride in continuously maintaining high maintenance standards for its members and guests. Working hours are 40 hours a week with weekend work on a rotating roster. Additional overtime may be required on occasions throughout the year for special events and busy periods. In addition to all leave entitlements staff are entitled to a RDO once a month.
Position Summary:
This is a key position within the Golf Course Management Department. Working directly with the Golf Course Superintendent to help develop a daily work schedule and coordinate the related activities and necessary equipment with the staff.
Responsible for training, supervision and reviewing of Golf Course employees along with supervision of construction projects and specific maintenance activities on the Golf Course and club grounds
General Requirements
- Help promote player satisfaction through quality maintenance and communications.
- Thoroughly assist in all safety training needs and procedures
- Works with the Superintendent and other key staff members to constantly improve the Golf Course, club grounds, maintenance facility and all safety programs
- Continues personal and professional Educational through attending self-development, training and Turf Conferences
- Help schedule and supervise the daily operations of the Course Maintenance staff
- Train, motivate and supervise the staff in a capable manner
Qualifications & Attributes
- Current driver’s license.
- Hold a recognized Turf Management Qualification (Certificate III minimum) cert 4 or Diploma Highly desirable.
- Chemical certification & a strong knowledge of application methods.
- Sound knowledge of WHS requirements.
- Experience in irrigation maintenance, repairs, and programming.
- Experience in managing and leading teams.

Qualified Greenkeeper
North Ryde Golf Club is currently looking for a Qualified Greenkeepers to join a dedicated turf management team. North Ryde Golf club takes great pride in continuously maintaining high maintenance standards for its members and guests. The club is entering its next phase of course reconstruction which will be an excellent opportunity to gain valuable construction exposure. Working hours are 40 hours a week with weekend work on a rotating roster. Additional overtime may be required on occasions throughout the year for special events and busy periods. (All weekend / additional hours are paid overtime).
Duties Include
• Maintenance of all turf areas on the Course to a high standard, inclusive of greens, tees, surrounds, bunkers, fairways, roughs and out of play areas
• Proficient in course set-up
• Carry out turf renovation, including scarifying, coring, dethatching and sanding as required
• Assist in any other areas on the club’s property as directed by the Course Superintendent.
• Safely apply pesticides and fertilisers when required
• Irrigation management
• Follow and implement safe workplace practices.
Experience and Requirements
- Certificate 3 in Sports Turf Management or higher
- Chemical Accreditation
- Experience in all aspects of Golf Course maintenance
- Be competent with wide range of turf machinery
- Experience and knowledge of chemical and fertiliser application
- Experience with irrigation systems
- Able to follow instructions and work autonomously.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Punctual with good attention to detail.
- Completed a White Card/Construction Induction course (highly desirable)
