The Digital Services and Design Section delivers a range of digital products for the Department including website maintenance and development, social media management, graphic design services, and digital video production. The section oversees a range of websites including (but not limited to) the main DVA website, Open Arms, Defence Service Homes Insurance, and the Recognition website. Management of a number of DVA's official social media channels forms part of the section's core function.
The key duties of the position include
- Track engagement across various platforms and make data-driven decisions
- Use website analytics, search-term analysis, and other heuristics to ensure that content on DVA's websites is effective, useful, positioned correctly, and easily found.
- Undertake search engine configuration on a range of DVA's websites to ensure search results are effective and accurate.
- Configure and provide usage statistics and other website reporting tools to allow business areas to measure the impact of their campaigns and content updates.
- Work closely with the web development and BAU publishing teams to deliver evidence-driven changes to DVA's websites such as information architecture (IA) updates, homepage redesigns, and content clean-up.
- Input into communication strategies, including but not limited to; market research and analysis; website and social media; and stakeholder engagement.
- Assist with budget forecasting for the Digital Services and Design Section.
- Manage web-based projects and digital-related procurement within the team.
- Provide support to the BAU web publishing team as required.
- Manage and mentor team members, identifying and encouraging development and learning opportunities to support communication objectives.
- Apply the principles of cooperative and safe working practices consistent with the APS Values and the Department's mission, vision, approach and values.
