We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to provide day-to-day maintenance, landscaping and gardening services and join our wonderful Ashdale College community. Being energetic and having a keen desire to maintain grounds and gardens in our vibrant and innovative College, would be highly desirable.
The successful applicant will maintain school grounds, including turf areas, garden beds, shrubs and trees, ensure grounds and gardens are in a clean and tidy condition, providing students and staff with a safe external learning environment. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a suitable growing environment for the soft landscape, including gardens, lawns and broader turf management, maintaining hard landscaping such as courts and paving and marking sports areas as required.
The assistant Gardener Handyperson will perform minor repairs and maintenance according to the Department's policies and guidelines, maintain gardening facilities, equipment and tools to a neat, clean and serviceable standard and report faults as appropriate.
The successful applicant should perform tasks and duties using safe work practices, including management of hazardous substances in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation, in a timely manner with minimal disruption to students and staff.
