ABOUT THE ROLELocated in Hexham NSW, this role can be offered as either part-time Assistant Management Accountant position, or as full-time role with partial support of our Recruitment function.
As such, this role is mostly responsible for providing accurate financial information while supporting our Management Accountant, researching and analysing accounting data, and preparing variety of financial reports.
This TEMPORARY role is for the next 6 months only (extension possible but not guaranteed).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReporting into the Finance Manager the main responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assisting with month end processing including reconciliations and journal entries
- Supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements, P&L, budgets, cash flows
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cost allocation where required
- Supporting monthly, half-year and year end accounts and reports
- Assisting with general ledger posting and associated reconciliations
- Assisting with tax compliance both state and federal (GST, BAS, FBT, PAYG etc.)
- Applying corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
- Complying with internal policies incl. WHS
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar Finance/Accounting role in a commercial type of business
- Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or Business
- Good analytical and numerical abilities, intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- MS Office Suite with previous experience working with accounting software
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Accuracy, an eye for detail and focus on process improvements
