MEX Digital is looking for an experienced Finance expert to manage the finance matters of companies in Australia and UAE. The position requires an allrounder to oversee and manage the financial operations of the entity. Key responsibilities include financial and management reporting, fixed assets management, accounts payable and receivable, banking and payroll. It requires a candidate with experience in cryptos and ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck right away.
The candidate will also support the CFO and other stakeholders with financial assessments and information to meet corporate goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the collection of financial and accounting information and the preparation of budgets, reports, and statutory, financial & management reports.
- Oversee the management, maintenance and preparation of periodic payroll including payroll related payment obligations and reconciliation.
- Prepare and maintain reconciliations, including bank, broker, payment merchant and client monies and virtual assets reconciliations.
- Maintain and review general ledgers including monthly reconciliations and other ad-hoc reviews required to ensure the accuracy of information.
- Manage the accounts payable/receivable functions and maintain the fixed assets register.
- Manage annual audit process and liaise with tax consultants to prepare and submit tax returns on time, assess tax implication of the contracts.
- Assist in control activities such as expense control, administration of contracts and insurance arrangements.
- Administer banking & other merchant facilities, complete online payments and approve corporate payment & client withdrawals / transfers.
- Provide support for trading client related treasury, banking and compliance related activities & reporting.
- Liaise with Group reporting and stakeholders to provide strategic, finance and ongoing operational support and external reporting.
- Ensure all financial reporting cost allocations and disclosure reports for group entities are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Assist in the implementation, integration and improvement of business systems and processes.
- Represent the organization in dealings with bankers, legal advisers, clients, vendors, service providers and others as required.
- Complete any ad-hoc financial reporting requests.
Background & Experience:
- CPA/CA qualified (or equivalent)
- 4+ years’ experience in accounting for cryptocurrency role in the financial services sector.
- Analytical skills and good business acumen.
- Relevant experience in ASIC & AUSTRAC regulatory compliance.
- Experienced and knowledgeable of accounting software, and management systems.
- Flexible and able to manage competing priorities.
- High attention to detail, a strategic mindset for finance and a character of high integrity.
- Good verbal and written skills.
