Paltech is a leader of innovation and manufacture of ducted heating and cooling products, with dependable service to the trade. Recently acquired by Air Diffusion Agencies, Paltech is on a significant path of growth, and our Knoxfield branch now has an opportunity for a 2IC to join our Manufacturing Supervisor in managing our polyester manufacturing plant.
The ideal candidate will be computer literate with experience in a manufacturing and production environment. Knowledge of the Air polyester/insulation sector would be favourable but not essential.
The Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will assist in the management and operation of production process. You will ensure the production area is safe, clean and organised. You will also be required to assist in the Management and supervision of staff to ensure effective production outputs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist in managing production staff.
- Coordinate manufacturing operations and ensure set production schedule is met each shift, whilst ensuring product standards and product specifications align.
- Maintain a strong culture in safety first awareness across the organisation.
- Maintain stock inventory and manage racking.
- Track jobs from order to invoicing to dispatch through Paltech ERP software
- Drive Forklift when required.
- Manage and inspire staff to be motivated and productive.
- Be hands on and part of the team.
- Conduct weekly Toolbox and pre-start meetings when Production Supervisor is on leave.
Skills and Experience
- Previous Team Leader/Supervisor experience
- LF Forklift license required
- Experience in Production Management Systems.
- Good communication skills
- Acute attention to detail
- Able to prioritise and organise tasks
- Enable smooth transfers between branches
- Able to use Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.
- Proven ability to manage change.
- A solid understanding of manufacturing and distribution processes including Stock control, ordering, invoicing and dispatch.
- Great people management skills
