Bodriggy Brewpub is looking for a hospitality leader for the position of Assistant Venue Manager at one of Melbourne's busiest brewpubs in Abbotsford.
About the Business:
Bodriggy is a fast paced, large and multifaceted brewpub and music venue located on lower Johnston street (LoJo) Abbotsford. Featuring 3 x bars including, Stingray's Upstairs – a swish cocktail saloon; an iconic Front Bar and Take Away Shop; the main brewpub bar area.
All our beers are made in house including limited release beers. While we focus on froff, first and foremost, our backbar is a proud selection of mezcal, tequila and more–which is reflected in our seasonal cocktail menu. A strong weekly music program features DJs, bands and festivals we push to create an experience to exceed guest expectations.
We are open 7 days a week with a fully functioning kitchen. Our menu focuses on quality Mexican cuisine with South American influences in a casual setting.
About the Roles:
Assistant Venue Manger
First and foremost, has the right attitude, hardworking, humble and someone eager to learn. Being comfortable in your surroundings and having the ability to manage & train people with confidence. This will be a hands-on service role. You’ll be assisting the Venue Manger with running the venue, managing the team especially on the busy times & implementing and maintaining staff training standards. It will also include looking after the general operations for both FOH and BOH, including implementing, updating & assisting with general admin, rosters, cash handling, emails and conducting weekly management meetings. Things that would be beneficial are Beer knowledge and passion, having worked both bar and floor in big busy venues, understanding and creating ambiance and reading the room.
You will be working with an amazing and humble team who have created a great working environment. Skills and experience
- 2 years management experience in a similar role
- Excel in the management of team and guest satisfaction
- Demonstrate good leadership qualities
- Exceptional customer service standards
- The ability to resolve disputes and altercations in a calm and positive manner
- Able to work quickly and efficiently
- Able to work in fast paced situations & make difficult decisions while keeping your cool
- Experience in dealing with HR and OH&S & liquor licensing
- Have sound administrative and computer skills
- Sound proficiency using booking platforms, Pos systems & administrative platforms
- An understanding of P&L’s, weekly budgets, forecasting and COGS costing.
- Organised and hardworking with a strong commitment to furthering your own career
- A complete level of business, management, and financial skills with a commitment of achieving outstanding results.
