Assistant Venue Manager

Woods & Co Recruitment have partnered with this busy and exciting hospitality group with many venues all over Melbourne. They are on the hunt for a capable and excitable Assistant Venue Manager with a love for all things food and beverage! 

This venue is not merely a new age gastro pub in Essendon, it has carefully designed every aspect of the venue, food, wine, and cocktails focusing on the customer's experience. It consists of large, spacious indoor and outdoor areas including an amazing rock fireplace, a superb wine collection, and complimented by earthy, sophisticated decor.

If you are an experienced Assistant Venue Manager, a veteran in cocktail making, assisting managing a team in a fast-paced venue who has a love of music, exotic cocktails, and people. The right candidate will have made a few martini’s and interesting menus in their time, helped their fellow bar team smash out the busy nights and have great people management skills in general.

What do you do?

• Be a team player and lead by example
• Smash out some awesome cocktails
• Assist in the day to day running of the venue
• Training and team development 
• Create some seasonal menus
• Hands-on approach in your work ethic
• Loves good banter
• Manage open and closing procedures
• Ability to manage high-end clients

What do you need?

• At least 2 years’ experience as and bar manager or AVM 
• Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work across a 7-day roster including weekends, and some late nights but not super late!
• Ability to problem solve and prioritise tasks
• Willingness to be part of an enthusiastic and motivated team and lead by example
• Want to work long term in a stable job.
• RSA essential
• Function experience a bonus but not essential
• Previous experience working at higher-end venues is advantageous
