About this opportunity -
As Associate, Financial Investigations Unit, you will conduct and complete proactive and reactive AML investigations. Through the gathering, analysis and evaluation of relevant information, you will determine whether sufficient grounds for suspicion of money laundering, terrorism financing or other criminal activities exist, and will prepare Suspicious Activity Reports to the authorities where required. As Associate, you play a key role in complying with legislative/regulatory requirements, and mitigating risk to RBC Brewin Dolphin, in line with established organizational policy.
Responsibilities Include -
- Conduct proactive and reactive AML Investigations;
- Maintain accurate records of all investigative actions and decisions taken;
- Prepare relevant reports as required including documentation in support of any action proposed based on the results of investigations;
- Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports for submission to the authorities;
- Investigate transaction monitoring, sanctions and name scanning alert escalations;
- Ensure that investigations are conducted within defined timelines and are escalated in accordance with relevant policy;
- Promote, support and adhere to the relevant policies and guidelines.
Skills/Experience -
- Relevant industry experience in AML, preferably in Wealth Management, Asset Management or Private Banking;
- Strong investigative and analytical skills;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
- The ability to gather, assess/evaluate and present complex information in a simple and concise manner;
- Excellent administration, planning and organisation skills;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Displays enthusiasm, credibility and determination;
- Ability to grasp new ideas and concepts quickly, and use them effectively;
- Passion for continuous improvement;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
