Our client is a renowned architecture and interior design firm based in Sydney. They are a celebrated name in the design industry, known for their innovative and eclectic approach to residential and commercial projects.
Your new role
Currently, they have an open vacancy for an experienced Associate Architect. In that role, you will play a key role between the Design Team and Management. Supporting Management in executing design standards, policies & guidelines, ensuring compliance with building standards, growing capacity, whilst providing mentoring and structure to the team. Leading on project delivery & project management on mid-size and major projects.
The Associate Architect joins the senior team, providing a bridge between Management and the broader design team on multiple issues around quality control (reviews), time & deadline management, policy, planning, forecasting and communications. Equally important is the ability to delegate and adapt to maintain the best culture and client outcomes whilst constantly driving for business improvement in the technical space.
Main duties will be, but not limited to:
- Project lead for multiple mid-size to major projects
- Mentor junior to associate project manager's
- Managing project budgets, deadlines, meetings and timesheets
- Attending site meetings both domestically and internationally
- Responding to RFI’s during construction and managing communications with the construction team / client
- Driving constant business improvement, focusing on the architectural space (internal QA systems, standards, policies, guidelines, reviews etc)
- Affiliation / liaison with industry bodies
- Understanding of residential construction methods and codes
- Receiving client briefs / determining the client’s goals and requirements of the project
- Strong modelling skills (Vectorworks / ArchiCAD preferred)
- Ability to manage, coordinate, and draft construction documentation and details
- Master’s Degree in Architecture
- Exceptional project management, technical, commercial and creative skills.
- Diverse project background at high-end level
- Vectorworks / ArchiCAD preferred, Adobe Suite
- Exceptional communications skills
- Previous Business Development experience
- Must be a registered Architect
- Work on high-end residential projects
